Pet care booking terms, defined

The words booking software uses, in plain English, as liddle uses them.

Active user
Someone on your team with an accepted login that is not locked or removed. liddle’s price counts these; clients and pets are never counted. See it in liddle
Agreement
Terms a client signs online before they book. Each change can be a new version, and the version a client signed is kept on their record. See it in liddle
Appointment
A booked visit for one or more pets with a service, a time and usually a team member.
Blocked time
Time on the calendar that cannot be booked, such as a break, travel or admin.
Boarding stay
An overnight booking in a room, from an arrival date to a departure date. See it in liddle
Booking request
A booking a client has asked for that waits for your team to accept, decline or offer another time. See it in liddle
Class
Group sessions with a set number of places. A course keeps one group together for every lesson; other classes are booked by the date or as a block of lessons. See it in liddle
Client portal
Where your clients sign in to book, pay, message you and keep their pets’ details. See it in liddle
Daycare session
A part of the day you take daycare bookings for, such as a full day or a half day, with its own number of places. See it in liddle
Deposit
Part of a booking’s price paid in advance. It comes off the balance on that booking’s invoice. See it in liddle
Document review
Your team checking a certificate or clearance a client uploaded before it counts toward a requirement. See it in liddle
Enrolment
A pet’s place in a class, asked for by the client and accepted by your team.
Guardian
A person who shares a pet’s profile in the client portal, as an owner or a caregiver, each with their own login.
Instant booking
A booking that confirms as soon as the client sends it, without waiting for your team.
Membership
A recurring daycare plan a client agrees to, renewed until they stop it.
Occupancy
How full each room is across the days ahead. See it in liddle
Pass
Prepaid daycare visits that draw down one at a time and expire after a set period.
Recurring series
Appointments that repeat on a pattern, such as every six weeks, which you can pause or change from one session onward.
Safety alert
An allergy, medical, behaviour or medication note on a pet that shows wherever your team works with them.
Visit update
A note and photos you publish to the owner after a visit. Your team’s own notes stay private.
Waitlist offer
An emailed offer of a place that opened in a full class, with a deadline to accept. See it in liddle
